Temperature regulated 12V smart battery charger
AccuMate PRO 12V-24V is a versatile automatic compact battery charger for lead-acid starter and deep cycle batteries of minimum capacity 17Ah (12V) or 9Ah (24V).
Suitable for all types of batteries: filler cap types; absorbed acid "MF" (AGM) for motorcycles; valve regulated (VRLA); & flooded (wet) & GEL-electrolyte types.
Very easy to use - Select 12V or 24V charging output according to battery type, then connect to battery and mains power. The rest is fully automatic.
In addition to its quick charging ability, AccuMate PRO is ideal for long term maintenance of the batteries of irregularly or seasonally used vehicles & appliances. Here are just a few examples of possible applications: golf trolleys & buggies, 4X4’s, pleasure boats, campers, emergency vehicles, electrical sweepers, handling equipment, etc
The interactive standby feature – operational during MAINTAIN stage – acts as a power supply and battery protector. It will allow close to maximum current to be drawn by circuits or devices connected to the battery (vehicle alarms, venting fans, in vehicle freezers) without the battery losing any charge.
No risk of overcharging - AccuMate PRO's special temperature regulated monitoring circuits vary & regulate the current & voltage according to ambient temperature as long as the batteries remain connected. One month or one year, it makes no difference!
The easily detachable handle incorporating a cable storage reel and clamp storage can be mounted above the main housing (for carrying) or below (for wall-mounted application, by means of 2 pear-slots in the rear of the housing which engage on two screws in the wall).
The compact charger dimensions of 14 x 16 x 15 cm (5 1/2" x 6 3/8" x 6"high) include the handle.
The built-in cooling fan with seated ball-bearings (rated for a minimum 5 years of continuous running) ensures cool operation for enhanced service life, while an internal temperature monitor (NTC thermistor) controls the output current & reduces it if necessary to avoid overheating in exceptional circumstances.
Intelligent electronic protections against inverse polarity, short-circuit, over-heating, with built in spark suppression.
Additional fuse protections provided for : eyelets connection set (protects battery against dead-shorting across terminals in case of accident) ; AC input ; accidental disablement of the built-in cooling fan ; and a thermal fuse protects the transformer.
Delivered with 2 detachable connection sets, one with battery clips, the other with eyelets for permanent attachment to a battery's posts. Replacement and other connection accessories such as a 2,5m/8ft output cord extender or cigar socket connectors are available.

Classic 3-stage charging algorithm. (24V values)
Constant current "bulk" charge until the voltage has risen to 14,4V (28,8V) at 20'C.
14,4V (28,8V) absorption stage until the charge current falls to 0,17 x full charge current.
Maintenance / Float mode voltage limited at 13,7V (27,4V). Should the battery being maintained at any stage require current exceeding 0,17 x full charge current, the program reverts to the absorption stage. The battery can then draw current as required until this again reduces to 0,17 x full charge current, whereupon the float mode will again engage.
Temperature regulated charging - An ambient temperature sensor plugs in at the rear of the housing to vary the output voltage parameters by -4mV /°C (-2,2MV /'F) per cell away from the 20 °C norm. Unplugging this sensor sets the voltage parameters to the default (20°C) settings.
The standard ambient temperature sensor can be replaced by an optional plug-in 2M (6' 6") long external temperature probe for taping on to the battery casing for more accurate automatic charging voltage management.
